On Wednesday, January 7th, candles were lit, tea was poured, sharpies were uncapped, and scissors were drawn.
We gathered twenty Loftie lovers to ease into the night side by side in our cozy Tribeca loft.
Combing over magazines, snacking on cookies, and sipping our favorite teas from Leaves of Leisure—my favorite part of the evening was easily the atmosphere.
I usually feel a little uneasy accumulating and cementing my visions onto a page. Even an unassuming collage can feel a little like a test... what will I compose consciously or subconsciously, and what will it reveal about me, about what I want?
Sam, our design director, says she always feels kind of wedded to her vision boards in a way. And I found myself agreeing. Once it exists, you can’t exactly part with it simply, throwing it out or burying it in the closet seems like a quiet act of betrayal.
Because tacking big, all-encompassing goals onto our fresh, shiny new year was feeling a little daunting, we created themed prompts:
Career, Friendship, Self, Change, Love, Health.
Soon after 7pm, the room filled up with chatter as people took their seats and got to clipping. Soft music played, the lights stayed low, and the candles flickered encouragingly around the room.
We relaxed and fell into gentle flow: flipping through magazines, collecting images, retelling bits of the day to new ears. It felt simple really, and truly present.

It wouldn’t be a Wind Down Wednesday without a few treats: we picked up Italian butter cookies, our favorite chocolate chip, and some apple cider donuts. And it wouldn’t be a tea party without some cozy teas: Allie dropped off her Leaves of Leisure favorites: Snow Angel, Bath Time, and Apple Picking.
We also raffled off a Loftie Clock, and Vivian got to take it home <3

The air was light, optimistic, and at ease—just what everyone deserves on a Wednesday.
I hope you’ll join us at the next one!
